This Refund & Cancellation Policy (“Policy”) explains how Sloth Desk LLP (“Sloth Desk”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles cancellations, refunds, deposits, and project discontinuation. Because our work involves custom consulting, development, and strategy services, this Policy exists to ensure clarity for all clients.
1. Custom Work Is Non-Refundable
All services provided by Sloth Desk, including but not limited to web design, web/SaaS/app development, technical SEO, strategy consulting, content planning, and performance analytics, are custom, labor-based deliverables.
For this reason:
- Payments are non-refundable, including deposits and milestone payments.
- Once work begins, no full or partial refunds are issued.
This is standard for consulting and development engagements.
2. Deposits
Most projects require a non-refundable deposit to secure time, allocate resources, and begin work. Deposits will not be refunded under any circumstances unless explicitly stated in the service agreement.
3. Cancellation of Projects
If a client wishes to cancel a project:
- Cancellation terms will follow the specific service agreement or proposal signed before the project began.
- Any work completed up to the cancellation date will be billed.
- Outstanding invoices become immediately due.
Sloth Desk reserves the right to pause or terminate a project if:
- Required assets or approvals are excessively delayed
- Payments are late
- Scope changes without agreement
- The working relationship becomes unfeasible
4. Retainer Services
Monthly retainers (SEO, development, maintenance, ongoing consulting, etc.) are:
- Billed in advance
- Non-refundable once the billing cycle starts
Clients may cancel a retainer by providing written notice within the time period specified in their agreement (typically 15–30 days).
5. Digital Products or One-Time Purchases (If Applicable)
If Sloth Desk offers any digital downloads, templates, or documents in the future:
- These will be non-refundable due to their digital nature.
- Exceptions will be clearly marked at the time of purchase.
6. No Guarantees of Performance
Refunds are not granted based on performance outcomes such as:
- SEO rankings
- Traffic
- Engagement
- Sales
- Lead volume
- Platform changes
Results depend on many external factors and cannot be guaranteed.
7. Policy Changes
We may update this Policy periodically.
Changes will be reflected by the Effective Date above.
